      MINUTES OF SMWGA BOARD MEETING – December 1, 2010 (Year End Summary)    
           
         
      The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. by President Katie Maldonado/PEN.  Not in attendance: Kurre Miro/TO, Dorothy Camper/PEN,     
  HOME   Mary Dawn Sandlan/FB.      
      The minutes of October 13 were approved.    
  MEMBER CLUBS   TREASURER:  Annette Antle/ELC stated there is no report available.  It was suggested that Annette look at the 2011 budget to increase    
      or decreasew expenditures on monies accrued so that she can provide accurate event payout budgets.    
  CALENDAR   FIELD DAY REPORT:  Katie Maldonado reported the rescheduled Pendleton field day was cancelled due to the passing of their Club Pro.    
      Doug Blanchard.  It has been resculed for May 23, 2011.  Twin Oaks field day, including the General Meeting and installation of officers,    
  FIELD DAYS   is Monday, January 31 - 8 a.m. shotgun.  Cost:  $56 No refunds after Jan. 26.  Game = modified Pinehurst.    
      PRESIDENT'S REPORT:  Katie presented the 2011 board:  President Kathy Cates/MR, 1st VP Cyndy Simons/ELC, 2nd VP June    
  OFFICERS &   Boerrigter/ML, Recording Secretary Jan Salisbury/CC, Corresponding Secretary Roxie Stanley/SLR, Treasurer Annette Antle/ELC,    
     DIRECTORS   Calendar & Webmaster Joyce Goldman/PEN, Rules Marley Bates/ESC, Trophy June Boerrigter/ML, Membership Denean Rivera/MR, Team    
      Major Lynn Mollet/ESC, Publicity Denise McNeese/FB, Parliamentarian Katie Maldonado/PEN.  New Reps:  Brenda Vatnsdal/SLR, Joleen    
  MEMBERSHIP   Lees/MR, Pam Estes/CC, Sheri Spitler/LSM, Maureen Mitchell/FB.  Slate officers approved as presented.    
      A discussion followed regarding 50/50 monies applicable to the Getaway prize fund.  Discussion followed, with a decision not reached.    
  TEAM   Further discussion is necessary, with a decision to be made prior to the issuance of the final treasurer's report.    
      1st VP: Kathy Cates/MR has made tentative reservations with the management at Sycuan for the 2011 Getaway.  Sycuan overseeds    
  BYLAWS &   their courses every other year, leaving one course open for play.  The date:  October 24 & 25; projected cost: $238, including 1 night,    
  STANDING RULES   2 days of golf, continental breakfast and lunch on the last day of play.  Kathy will attempt to negotiate a lower price.    
      Corresponding Secretary:  Kathy Dells/ELC sent a thank you note to the staff at The Journey/Pechanga.    
  MINUTES   CALENDAR CHAIR:  Joyce Goldman/PEN has not received 2011 club calendars from Fallbrook and Lake San Marcos.    
      PUBLICITY CHAIR:  Dawn Jessee/CC said Getaway and Team results were published.    
      TROPHY CHAIR:  June Boerrigter/ML distributed Getaway awards - Macy's gift cards for the game, Trader Joe's gift cards for closest    
      to the pin.    
      RULES CHAIR:  Cyndy Simons/ELC said there were several rules corrections at the Getaway, with all resolved with no problem.        
      Reminder: There is to be no cell phone use during team play.    
      MEMBERSHIP:  Linda Efflandt/LSM reviewed the membership count for each club with the Treasurer and the Board:  Castle Creek 19;    
      El Camino 25; Escondido 33; Fallbrook 14; Lake San Marcos 19; Meadow Lake 18; Morgan Run 32; Pendleton 22; San Luis Rey Downs 15;    
      Temecula Creek 34; Twin Oaks 17.  Total 238 paid SMWGA Members as of 12/2/2010.    
      WEBMASTER:  Joyce Goldman/PEN offered to post individual club information on the SMWGA website.    
      TEAM MAJOR:  Lynn Mollet will no longer be emailing the field day reports.  She will send new forms for the year to 2011 reps.    
      OLD BUSINESS:  President Maldonado cited a situation that occurred at Castle Creek's team play where a handwritten note was posted    
      on a tee box containing what appeared to be a rule concerning one of the barranca holes.  The note caused confusion for players    
      in attendance.  Citing this as inappropriate behavior, she cautioned this should not happen again.    
           
      There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:40 a.m.  The next meeting is Wednsday, January 26 - 9 a.m. in the Lake    
      San Marcos Legends Room.  Checks for Twin Oaks field day will be due at that time.
