      MINUTES OF SMWGA BOARD MEETING – September 15, 2010      
           
      The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. by Katie Maldonado/PEN, President      
      Not in Attendance:  June Boerrigter (ML), Teri Stock (SLR, Tracy Hubly-Starkjohann (TO), Donnie      
  HOME   Leidel & Char Thielen (TC).  Barbara Toole reprsented TC.      
      New Board Member:  Dorothy Camper/PEN was introduced.      
  MEMBER CLUBS   MINUTES:  The June 16, 2010 minutes were approved.      
      TREASURER: Annette Antle/ELC reviewed the P&L For Jan/Aug. 2010.  Total income = $27,514.      
  CALENDAR   Total event expenses = $24,732.82. Net income = $2,781.18.  BofA Bal. 9/8/2010 = $7,098.76      
      FIELD DAY:  Pendleton will host the 1st field day for qualification for 2011 team play on Monday,      
  FIELD DAYS   Oct. 25.  8:30 a.m. shotgun @ $56 - 2 BB/4some.  Entries close 10/12/10 - no refund after 10/13.      
      PRESIDENT:  Katie Maldonado/PEN stated there are 104 players attending the Getaway at Pechanga on    
  OFFICERS &   Nov. 1-2.  Shotgun: Monday 11 a.m., Tuesday 9 a.m.  Monday game:  BB/Partners.  Tuesday game:       
     DIRECTORS   BB/Partners + both on all par 3s.  Tees:  Flight A = Silver (135/72.7), Flight B = Orange (126/68.9).      
      Tees will be the same on #9 & 13.  Those playing practice round Sunday 10/31 will be able to tee off      
  MEMBERSHIP   at 12:30 and enjoy the negotiated rate.  Hotel check-in Monday is aftr golf.  All information will be      
      contained in packets distributed by Reps to all participants before the event.  Separate 50/50      
  TEAM   raffles each day.  Scores will be posted as "Tournament" by Reps.      
      1st VICE PRESIDENT:  Kathy Cates/MR announced Singing Hills (now Sycuan) is being considered      
  BYLAWS &   as the site for the 2011 Getaway because they offer option of playing 2 different courses.        
  STANDING RULES   CORRESONDING SECRETARY:  Kathy Dells/ELC sent thank you notes to each Club's pro and staff.      
      CALENDAR CHAIR:  Joyce Goldman/PEN asked Reps to provide Club calendars when available.      
  MINUTES   RULES CHAIR:  Cyndy Simons/ELC reported an incident during team play: a player who was away      
      wished to putt first.  The putt ended close to the hole but was not conceded.  She was not allowed      
      to finish.  It was pointed out that this was misinformation - this only applied in single match play.      
      MEMBERSHIP:  Linda Efflandt/LSM asked that current membersihp lists from all clubs be emailed to      
      with all changes and new member info by the yet-to-be-determined cut off date.      
      NEW MEMBER:  Sue Schakel/PEN.  TRANSFER:  Sandra Carey/CC (from ELC)      
      PARLIAMENTARIAN:  Pam Estes/CC delivered a current set of member club bylaws.      
      TEAM MAJOR:  Lynn Mollett/ML Reviewed 2011 Team Play dates - cost will remain at $40/match.      
      A motion to use 9/15/2010 handicaps for the 10/4/2010 match was approved.        
      OLD BUSINESS:  Proposed Revised Bylaws were presented for acceptance.  Motion carried.      
      NEW BUSINESS:  The Escondido CC Womens Club has asked for reistatement effective  1/1/2011.      
      After discussion, motion carried.  Pala Mesa has also requested reinstatement; however, because      
      SMWGA membership is at capacity, this request was decllined.      
      The Nominating Committee - 2011 Officers - was appointed.  A meeting was called following adjourn-    
      ment.  It was moved that a Team Captain position description be developed.  Motion carried.      
           
      There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:35 a.m.  Next meeting 10/13 in      
      LSM Legends Room.  Pendleton Field Day information is due at that time.
