SANTA MARGARITA WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
			MINUTES OF SMWGA BOARD MEETING – January 6, 2010 (Meadow Lake)
			The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. by President, Katie Maldonado/PEN.
			Not in attendance:  Kathy Dells/ELC, Kurre Mero/TO.
	HOME		MINUTES:  The minutes for the 12/2/09 meeting were approved.
			TREASURER:  Annette Antle/ELC reviewed the Profit & Loss stmts. Beginning 1/1 &
	MEMBER CLUBS		12/31/09.  Total income was $26,212.40; expenses $26,852.20.  net loss for2009 = $639.80.
			Current assets - Bank of America = $4,317.58.
	CALENDAR		FIELD DAY:  There are 43 players going to the ML Field Day.  LSM Field Day is 2/8/10 @ $54.
			Greens fees & cart = $35, lunch = $15, sweeps = $4.  Game = 2 BB of 4some - 8 a.m. shotgun.
	FIELD DAYS		PRESIDENT:  Katie Maldonado/PEN reported that, because of a conflict with County's 2-day Champ-
			-ionship tourney, PEN may change the date for Team Awards.  More to follow at a later date.
	OFFICERS &		A motion was made to include member email addresses in the 2011 handbook.  Motion passed.
	DIRECTORS		Katie suggested Reps poll their individual club members to get their opinion on this subject.
			1st VICE PRESIDENT:  Kathy Cates/MR questioned the board about the absence of a notebook for
	MEMBERSHIP		her position as Tournament Chair.  All Reps were asked to check if they have books that shuold be
			passed to current officers.
	TEAM		CALENDAR CHAIR:  Joyce Goldman/PEN thanked all for their input.  The calendar is complete.
			RULES CHAIR:  Cyndy Simons/ELC was asked to present a pertinent rule to the board at each
	BYLAWS &		meeting.
	STANDING RULES		TROPHY CHAIR:  June Boerrigter/ML has certificates to present to the outgoing president at the
			ML Field Day.
	MINUTES		MEMBERSHIP CHAIR:  Linda Efflandt/LSM must have updates and changes to all club member lists
			by February 3.  The handbook will not go to print until then.
			Renewing Member:  Harriet Myer/ML
			WEB MASTER:  Joyce Goldman/PEN will post the final content of the Member Handbook to the site
			as soon as it is available.
			TEAM MAJOR:  Lynn Mollet/ML advised that Meadow Lake Golf Course has been rerated
			to a slope of 125 and a rating of 75.
			NEW BUSINESS:  Lynn Mollet/ML discovered when reading the present standing rules that in the past
			there has been discrepancy when scoring ties.  The correct way is found in Standing Rules/Item 5
			in the SMWGA Handbook.  It was proposed that any ties should be separated as gross score ties
			and net score ties.  Motion carried.
			A Bylaws review committee was formed.  Members:  K. Maldonado/PEN, K. Cates/MR,
			L. Efflandt/LSM, L. Mollet/ML, J. Goldman/PEN.
			Donna Roberts/LSM reported that 4 members from ESC, who have dual membership at LSM, have
			joined the LSM Women's Golf Club and SMWGA:  Michelle Carter, Donna Everson, Gerri Patterson,
			and Elizabeth Davis.  Membership forms will be provided at the February meeting.
			There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m.  The next meeting is Wed.,
			February 3, 2010 at LSMCC.  Checks for the LSM Field Day are due at that time.
