SANTA MARGARITA WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION    
      MINUTES OF SMWGA BOARD MEETING – Wednesday, October 13, 2010 (Pendleton Field Day)    
           
         
      The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. by President Katie Maldonado/PEN.  Not in attendance: Teri Stock/SLR, Mary Dawn Sandlin/FB,    
  HOME   Kurre Mero/TO, Kathy Cates/MR, Pam Estes/CC, Dorothy Camper/PEN.    
      The minutes for the September 15 meeting were approed as corrected.    
  MEMBER CLUBS   TREASURER:  Annette Antle/ELC provided P&L reports for September 1 thru October 11.  Total Income $23, 193/Total Expenses $2,800.    
      Balance $27,491.76    
  CALENDAR   FIELD DAY:  Pendleton's field day attendance is currently 49 players.  The Twin Oaks field day is January 31, 2011.    
      PRESIDENT:  Katie Maldonado/PEN distributed Getaway packets, asking reps to urge their participants to read all information.  Katie    
  FIELD DAYS   introduced 3 new reps:  Denise McNeese/FB, replacing Carla Barlow; Sheri Spitler/LSM, filling the vacancy left when Linday Efflandt     
      resigned; and Susan Vasterling/ML, filling the vacancy left when Lynn Mollet relocated.    
  OFFICERS &   CORRESPONDING SECRETARY:  Kathy Dells/ELC sent team play thank you notes to all clubs.     
     DIRECTORS   CALENDAR CHAIR:  Joyce Goldman/PEN needs all club calendars for 2011, specifically important club dates - e.g., major tournaments,    
      club championships, etc.    
  MEMBERSHIP   TROPHY CHAIR:  June Boerrigter/ML reported team award plaquest will not be finished in time for the Team Awards field day at PEN.    
      Plaques will be presented at the Getaway the following week.  The plaque currently held by ELC is missing; the ELC women's club will    
  TEAM   reimburse the ML women's club for the cost of the replacement plaque they purchased in 2008.    
      RULES:  Cyndy Simons/ELC reviewed team procedures for putting.  Katie Maldonado/PEN requested all clubs provide the team captains    
  BYLAWS &   with their club's local rules so that they can be distributed to their teams before play on the course.    
  STANDING RULES   MEMBERSHIP:  Linda Efflandt/LSM reviewed information contained on the new member form.  She also asked that, when a member    
      changes from one club to another, they notify the membership chair.    
  MINUTES   WEBMASTER:  Joyce Goldman/PEN is preparing the 2011 website and will post club information - e.g., local rules, if it is provided.    
      TEAM MAJOR:  Lynn Mollet announced the last team play day is at Castle Creek on Friday, October 22, where she hopes to give a    
      preliminary announcement of the winners.    
      Reminder:  A member must have played 6 games at their home club and one field day  at a neutral course between July 1 and June 30 in     
      order to qualify for team play.  A transferring member, already qualified for team at her former course, must play 3 games at her new    
      course and participate in one field day.  A member transferring during team play is ineligible to play for the remainder of the season.    
      OLD BUSINESS:  The Bylaws, accepted by the Board at the September meeting, have been posted at the Clubs.  Once they have been    
      posted at a Club for a minimum of 30 days, the Club may vote on them.  If a majority of clubs accept the Bylaws as presented, they will    
      be ratified at the December 1 meeting.    
      President Maldonado reported 3 vacancies on the 2011 Board:  Rules, Trophy, and Publicity Chair.  June Boerrigter/ML agreed to again    
      serve as Trophy Chair.  Denise McNeese/FB will serve as Publicity Chair.    
      NEW BUSINESS:  Susan Vasterling/ML reports they do not have sufficient players to field a team but asked if it was possible to share    
      players from other clubs.  This will be reviewed.      
      Received a letter from Norma Summers/Pala Mesa Women's Golf Club expressing their desire to be reinstated in SMWGA.  Pala Mesa's    
      new management is cooperative and willing to adhere to SMWGA's requirements for membership.  A response will be prepared stating    
      SMWGA has 11 member clubs - the maximum number permitted under the Bylaws, but if there are any changes they will be contacted.    
           
      There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:35 a.m.  The next meeting is Wed., December 1, 2010 - 10 a.m. in the    
      Legends Room/LSM.  There will be a luncheon following the meeting.
