SANTA MARGARITA WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
			MINUTES OF SMWGA BOARD MEETING – October 21, 2009 (San Luis Rey & Getaway)
			The memeting was called to order at 9:5 a.m. by President, Jan Chlebowski/ESC.
			Not in attendance:  K. Cates/MR, R. Stanley/SLR, K. Maldonado/PEN, E. Judge/PEN,
			P. Estes/CC,  B. Wright/ESC
	Home Page		Minutes:  The minutes of the September 9, 2009 meeting were approved.
			Treasurer: Annette Antle/ELC distributed the Treasurer's report for 9/2009.  Income = $1259.
	Member Clubs		Expenses = $1,252.  BofA Balance = $7,773.
	& Information		The small number attending the Getaway could negatively impact the amount in the prize fund.
	Page 2		After discussion, the 2009 prize allocation will remain the same; however, this may be
			addressed again next year.
	Calendar		Field Day Reports:  52 have signed up for the SLR Team Awards field day.  Getaway
			participants = 40.  Courses to be played at Borrego Springs:  Mesquite and Desert Willow.
	Officers &		The Desert tees will be played.  Packets for attendees will be available at the SLR Field Day.
	Directors		Corresponding Secretary:  Kathy Dells/ELC has sent thank you notes to the management
			at each club thanking them for hosting SMWGA's 2009 field days and team play.
	Membership		Calendar Chair:  Joyce Goldman asked all clubs to provide their  club's 2010 event calendars
	Information		for inclusion in the SMWGA calendar.
			Trophy Chair:  June Boerrigter/ML reported the "Net" Team Awards plaque is missing.
	Team		Membership Chair:  Linda Efflandt/LSM proved each club with a copy of their member list.
	Information		All are asked to update all information for the 2010 roster and return that revised sheet at the
	Eligibility List		Dec. 2 board meeting - with a copy, including checks, to Annette Antle/Treasurer.  Member
			dues of $18/Member & $25/Club are due by Dec. 2.  Enter all new member info on the standard
	By Laws &		form.
	Standing Rules		Team Major:  Lynn Mollett/ML reported there are 5 members who must play 2 field days
			before they are eligible to play 2010 team.  M. Bates & S. Swadley/ESC, J. Lilly, C. Wright/PEN,
	Field Days		N. Serigstad/LSM.  Each were unable to meet their 2009 requirement for personal reasons.
	Information &		Slow Play was discussed.  Lynn reiterated that slow play is unacceptable - see USGA rules.
	Winners		New Business:  C. Symons/ELC attended County's handicap meeting.  Explained GHIN
			system changes.  95% of WSCGA members will have a "9" included at the beginning of their
			current IDC number, making their GHIN number 7 digits instead of the current 6.  A person
	Minutes		already holding a GHIN number will keep that number.  Due to begin in January, there will be
			no IDC posting service from 12/23 thru 12/31/09.
			Old Business:  Kathy Dells/ELC will meet with the Temecula Creet Ladies' Club to further
			discuss their interest in joining SMWGA.  She asked that calendar dates for team play and
			field days be put on hold until details are finalized, with the idea of fewer field days per
			year, etc.  Also discussed was the extreme heat encountered during team play months.  Lynn
			Mollett reported there were numerous team members who could not tolerate such weather
			because of health issues.  Lynn will monitor field day vs. team play schedules for 2010.
			There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:35 a.m.  The next meeting
			is December 2, 2009 at Lake San Marcos CC.  The location of that meeting will be announced.
