			MINUTES OF SMWGA BOARD MEETING – Winners Circle April 9, 2008
			The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Pam Estes/CC, President
			Absent: Maggie Brown/ESC, Joyce Goldman/LSM, Kathy Cates/MR, Cyndy Simons/ELC
			MINUTES:  The March 19, 2008 meeting Minutes were approved as corrected.
	Home Page		TREASURER'S REPORT:  Cyndy Simons/ELC was absent but had informed Pam Estes that
			the Treasurer's Report will be e-mailed to the group.
	Member Clubs
	& Information		FIELD DAY REPORT:  There are 66 players attending Winner's Circle at Arrowwood Golf
	Page 2		Club April 21, 2008.  Players who have not committed may be added, but must inform
			Maggie Brown/ESC.  The next field day will be at Lake San Marcos, Monday on May 12, 2008.
	Calendar		Linda Efflandt/LSM e-mailed the form to all clubs.  Game:  2 Best Balls of the 4some.  LSM
			Pro Shop asked for an estimate of attendance by May 4.  Cost:  $52 (Golf/Cart @ $30,
	Officers &		Lunch @ $18, Sweeps @ $4).  San Luis Rey field day is Thursday, June 12.  Cost: $51
	Directors		(Golf/Cart/Range Balls/Coffee @ $33, Lunch @ $14, Sweeps @ $4).  Game: BB of Partners.
	Membership		1st VICE PRESIDENT: Jan Chlebowski/ESC said the previously reported practice round of
	Information		golf offered at Arrowwood @ $49 any day of the week was inaccurate.  The price is $49
			good only Monday thru Thursday.

	Information		CALENDAR CHAIR:  Judy Welker/PEN has corrected the Calendar to include Getaway checks
	Eligibility List		due along with PEN Field Day checks at the meeting on Wednesday, September 17, 2008.
	By Laws &		PUBLICITY: Barbara Bell/CC reported the field day results/ML appeared in the NC Times.
	Standing Rules
			RULES CHAIR:  Sue Hukari/SLR, attending a practice round at Arrowwood GC, noted many
	Field Days		areas on the course, including flower beds, had been heavily hydro-seeded.  These areas
	Information &		could be dangerous.  Course recommends free drop in these areas (noted on the back of the
	Winners		scorecard).  This may be identified as a local rule.
			MEMBERSHIP CHAIR: Linda Efflandt/LSM announced three new members-Sharon Nielson/TO,
	Minutes		Kurre Mero/TO, Wil Veenendaal/LSM.
			OLD BUSINESS:  Pam Estes/CC and Kathy Dells/SLR intend to meet in May with the contact at
			Fallbrook CC re their interest in joining SMWGA. Several important issues to discuss, including:
			SMWGA presently has 9 member clubs/8 teams of 14 players each = 112 per team match.
			NEW BUSINESS:  Judy Welker/PEN asked about a Field Day participant who was unable to
			play due to illness that day.  Instances such as this will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
			Dawn Jessee/ML said their field day costs, not covered under contract, were higher than
			quoted.  Concensus:  each club should get a signed contract to guarantee this does not occur.
			Sherry Ross/PEN resigned due to a busy schedule.  Katie Maldonado will assume the position.
			The next meeting is Wednesday, May 7, in the LSM Trophy Room - LSM Field Day checks due.
			There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:45 a.m.
