TEAM MAJOR DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend all SMWGA Board
Meetings to keep the Board members apprised of any changes, issues, updates,
etc.
Field Days
1. Assist individual Club
Representatives setting up their field days.
a. Update handicap indexes
for all SMWGA members and keep on file.
b. Email report sheet to
individual reps for them to complete and submit at the Board Meeting preceding
each field day.
c. If requested, set up
their game and foursomes, supply and print scorecards, cart signs, and check-in
lists.
2. Track participants to
confirm eligibility for team play.
3. Notify Reps and/or Team
Captains as to their Members’ eligibility for Team Play.
4. If requested, assist
Tournament Chair with Winner’s Circle preparation, as listed under field days.
5. If requested, assist
President with Getaway preparations, including setting up flights, foursomes,
scorecards, cart signs, check-in sheets, etc.
Team Play
1. Coordinate all team play
dates into one calendar – this is usually done in the first week or two of the
current year for the following year.
(Example: Team Captain’s meeting
after team play at Pendleton in 2010 was to set the calendar for 2011 team
play)
2. Set up the course and
hole assignments for each match – I request the hosting Team Captain supply the
shotgun assignment from their Head Pro/Pro Shop, then I set up the tee
assignments based on that information for each match. (Because we have 120 golfers, I try to
encourage them to give us the entire course so that I can spread the golfers
through all 18 holes.)
3. Download the appropriate indexes and convert to
handicaps for the appropriate course.
4. Set up and Send out the Excel Captain’s File to all Team
Captains as soon as the appropriate revision is available so that each Captain
can print their own scorecards.
5. Maintain and coordinate a Master file for Alpha, by
Hole, and Cart Signs to either print for the individual club, or email to the
Captain or Pro Shop to be printed for the match.
6. Collect all Results
sheets from the Team Captains after team play.
7. Maintain a Cumulative
Results sheet which is emailed to all Team Captains and Board Reps after each
Team Play Event.
Any other duties as
requested or assigned by the President and/or the Board of Directors.
Extensive computer
knowledge and a positive attitude are required for this position.
